How Many Day 1’s?

Day one. I don’t even like typing those words. Each time I reset, I think it will be the last. The last mistake, the last regret, the last lie, the last hangover, the last bit of shame, last, last, last. It’s exhausting just typing it! I tend to compartmentalize the many tools I’ve found to help keep me sober and in the moment. It’s like they’re spread out on different Post-It notes but need to be on one piece of notebook paper. This time around, my hope and goal are to blend (and mush and squeeze) all of them together into one amazing ball of soberness. (Yes, I may have made that word up.) And so it begins.

Goal for today: Stay sober and present.

Goal for tomorrow: List my sober tools I plan – and need – to take out:
